Julia is from the UK and has 16 years experience teaching and designing ESL and IELTS courses for adults in companies across Spain, UK, Germany, and Hong Kong including for The British Council and International House. She is CELTA and Masters qualified and has a PGDip in Digital Technologies for Language teaching.

Since the start of her career, she also worked as a Director of Studies/Centre Manager for summer schools at a variety of universities in the UK and provided teacher training for the companies she worked for. In 2017, she qualified as a Cambridge examiner and has prepared and assessed hundreds of candidates.

Her knowledge of effective methodologies for learning and teaching with technology led her to move over to the online world of course design and teaching in 2018 and since then has worked with one of the largest global language teaching platforms designing and writing their current ESL content library used by thousands of tutors and students.

She has now founded and runs her own online academy for the Cambridge Advanced exam, Advanced level IELTS candidates, and Advanced level Business courses (c1advanced-academy.com)

In her free time she volunteers with an established NGO to coordinate a fully online course she designed that helps refugees in Asia improve their professional English skills in order to be considered for remote working opportunities.

She speaks fluent Spanish (she is currently based in Spain), conversational German, and is learning Polish!
